This is a clip from the opening scene "HEAT" which is a robbery shootout. The scene starts with a medium shot covering half of the body of the protagonist and the camera slowly travels as the person walks in the building, in addition to this the music in the background was diegetic and the pace of the music matched with action because the sound in the background used was very fast and set a sense of suspense for the audience that some sort of action is going to take place. The camera then moves on to a close up shot of the mans shoes whilst he is walking in and then a crane shot is used by the director to show the setting and we as audience can see an office with people working ,the crane shot shows and gives the audience hints about the setting and where this particular scene is going to take place. The camera focuses on a few characters which gives a hint to the audience that these are the people in a team and are going to work on a mission, in the background we can hear a telephone ringing which is a parallel sound because we would often refer to a bank being busy and people speaking on their phones which were happening in this scene. There are certain cuts from each character face one after the other and they were all extreme close-ups to show their expressions and the cuts were so fast it built the suspense and all of a sudden the characters each wore a mask whilst no one even realized and one of the characters hit the security guard and pushed him to the floor whilst the other two pulled out their guns on the rest of the people in the bank. This particular scene was edited really fast and had various cuts and "shot reverse shot" which gradually built the scene what the audience was expecting.
One of the character then starts to walk around the bank in a very fast pace shouting his dialogue and shouting at the people in bank that they shouldn't act smart and that all their money is covered by the government and they are taking the governments money and no one needs to stop them in what they are doing ,the shots used in this particular action of the character moving around was a pan shot as well as a crane shot so it was right from the top and the camera was moving really fast indicating the movement of the person moving around and his speed he was moving with. The camera then zooms into the character who was walking around whilst he goes to the bank manager and grabs the key of his neck that leads them to the vault. The director then uses over the shoulder shot so as the protagonist walks opening each door the camera was also behind him covering just the shoulder.T he fact that only one key was used to open the doors suggested that the bank has a very easy security which can be broken down which implemented that the bank has a rubbish security system . The camera is then held still as he reaches to the vault and takes the money and puts it into the bank. Then one by one all the bags are filled money and handed to each of the characters in the team and they all leave the bank one by one whilst this is happening the camera focuses on their faces then the camera cuts to an office of the agents where they just find out about the bank robbery and everyone rushes out to the car and heads toward the bank. The camera focuses on the agents in the car and how serious they are and want to catch the robbers very badly the camera then cuts to outside the bank where the robbers are walking towards the car in a very natural way so that no one finds out. The pace overall is very fast and the cuts and transitions are also very fast creating and building the tension of the audience and leaving them with enigma codes. Just before the last robber is about the sit in the car gun firing starts and all of a sudden the action has started and a very intense gun scene starts where everyone is running from the danger. The director at this point focuses on the agents and the robbers and uses a shift reverse shot to show the audience the expressions of the characters.
